Did you know you don’t even need a Kindle device to be able to read e-books. Amazon has a number of free apps you can use to read on almost every device. The Kindle Cloud Reader is available here and can be used to read kindle books straight from your internet browser.

Finding Free Books On The Kindle Platform

Log in to your Amazon account and navigate to Kindle books in the menu. You have several options for finding free books. The easiest is to type free books into the search box and a list of free books will be displayed.

If you are looking for books in a specific category, browse the categories along the left hand side and drill down until you come to the category you are interested in. If the category is big enough it will have a best sellers list attached – Top 100 Paid and Top 100 Free. Select the free category for 100 absolutely free reads.

If the category you are interested in doesn’t have a best sellers list attached, you can display the results and then filter by price. If you filter by price ascending the free books will be displayed first.

Free e-books net offer 5 free ebooks per month for standard members or you can upgrade to VIP and get unlimited reading.

Whilst not as well known as some other book sites, Free Ebooks does have a reasonable collection of both fiction and non fiction books. The platform also allows authors to self-publish so you will find books that aren’t available elsewhere.

As a free member you will be allowed to download books in pdf format, whereas VIP’s get access to other formats such as e-pub and Kindle. There is no pressure to upgrade, you can stay as a free member for as long as you want. But if you choose to upgrade you can get lifetime VIP membership for around $50. Project Gutenberg is a library of over 60,000 free eBooks. You can choose free epub and Kindle eBooks and you can either download or read online.

Some of the most famous books ever written can be found on this project which makes books which are out of copyright available online. The project is run by volunteers and new books are added regularly.

The most commonly downloaded books include some real classics such as A Christmas Carol, Pride and Prejudice. Moby Dick and The Tales of Huckleberry Finn. With a wide choice of free titles and lots of different ways to read them, Project Gutenberg certainly deserves a bookmark
